ABOUT THIS POSITION

Aceable is looking for a VP of Product Management & Design (VP of Product) to help us achieve our aspiration for helping tens of millions of people yearly to live the life they want by providing them with unparalleled training and services in the areas of license and certification training with a focus on career-enablement.  The VP of Product will develop and grow our existing product and design teams and ensure that they continue to develop as a world class organization.

Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Product is a key member of Aceable’s leadership team and has portfolio level responsibility across all of our products.  The VP of Product is responsible for devising product strategy and leading the Product Management, Design and Enablement teams, while partnering heavily with our Marketing, Learning Experience, and Engineering teams. This role requires solid business acumen and a passion for working in a cross-functional environment to ensure overall product performance against key metrics.

Aceable is looking for a strong hands-on leader with a proven track record launching new product lines, growing them, and managing existing ones already delivering tens of millions of dollars in revenue. This person will be passionate about understanding our student’s needs and creating solutions that maximize student outcomes and create delight for them.  The VP of Product is at the epicenter of the organization and is expected to be a team player that lives Aceable’s cultural values and sets an example for others.  They are able to inspire others in their role as a team builder and strategic visionary, mentor their team, and act tactically when needed.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the product strategy and roadmap development processes to create high-quality, engaging, and convenient products, services, and tools that will allow students to achieve their stated and unstated needs and goals while delighting them. 
  • Ensure that Aceable maximizes the relationships with its students by delivering ongoing value across its course, service, and tool offerings.
  • Build, mentor, and motivate a stellar team capable of delivering product objectives on time and on budget while living our company values
  • In partnership with Product Marketing, guide the market research, market validation and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for existing and new products in response to student and partner needs
  • Champion the case for proposed innovations, including cost/benefit estimates, competitive analysis, risk analysis, best practices and product development timelines
  • Foster growth through M&A evaluation and integration into the Aceable portfolio and platform 
  • Work collaboratively with our Marketing and Business Development teams to create and revise the go-to-market strategy for each product line, including pricing models, product launch schedules, and guidelines
  • Provide our Learning Experience team with the tools and systems they need to successfully create, manage, and maintain our educational content at scale and deliver on our promise of student success
  • Provide our Customer Experience team with the tools and systems they need to successfully service our students and partners with low perceived customer effort and high satisfaction
  • Define goals/metrics and status dashboard reporting for the product management function and ensure achievement of our financial goals and student outcomes in partnership with key stakeholders

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in product management, product development and/or related fields in the context of software and technology development, including e-comm platform development
  • A proven and demonstrated track record of successful and inspirational strategic and operational leadership in mid-sized organizations
  • Strong record of collaboration across an organization to leverage, motivate, and influence teams not directly under their purview.
  • The ability, confidence and desire to challenge assumptions and the status quo in a way that is additive and gains buy-in. 
  • Proven track record as a culture warrior who inspires an inclusive, collaborative and aspirational team.
  • A proven and demonstrated track record of delivering on the business objectives of the company
  • Established record of launching new products and driving market adoption
  • Proven track record growing and managing established product lines in the tens of millions of dollars
  • Superb analytical skills; ability to translate complex business issues into clear goals and measure against those goals.
  • Proven business and product lifecycle planning and management skills using agile methodologies in an established mid sized growth company
  • A bias for action and creative problem solving while leveraging exceptional presentation and communicate skills to influence others and achieve results
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Located in Austin or willing to relocate within a year.

After launching our first mobile app to provide accredited driver's ed courses, Aceable expanded into real estate education and most recently entered into healthcare education. Most importantly, it is a team that places our students front and center and creates products that are focused on seeing them achieve their goals and be delighted in the process.
