What we're looking for, in a nutshell:

 

We are seeking a VP, Product Management to join our constantly growing team! Amherst technology team is looking for a self-motivated individual, who is creative, bold, and ambitious, yet is able to maintain strict timelines on development, while keeping the leadership up to date on product features and schedules.This position is critical to the success of our investor management suite of products, and you will play a major role in the development of our company future product interaction with investors, vendors and clients. Working cross-functionally, you will then convert your product ideas to formalized business requirements, gather data and metrics to support your products, align software teams to build the required solutions, and coordinate testing and deployment.

 

A little more about this role:

  • Drive product development with a team of engineers (from concept to launch)
  • Manage one or more Product Managers, Sr. Product Managers or Business Analysts, and guide career growth and mentorship for the individuals on the team
  • Create awareness of the products within the organization (e.g. asset management, accounting, construction, operations)
  • Oversee product-related projects/programs from design and development to production, Understand what our users need, and work with all the necessary team members to bring the product to life, including detailed business requirements delivery
  • Communicate with the Technical Development Team (e.g. engineers, software/database developers)
  • Formulate build vs buy strategy where applicable – specifically for key functional and technology components
  • Prioritize backlog to optimize customer satisfaction and internal resources available
  • Help with development and QA of new product features, create product positioning and messaging to resonate with our audience
  • Oversee and help with the QA testing of the product (e.g. find and track bugs and liaise with the development team)
  • Package the features into product releases
  • Help with defining resources and schedules for project/program implementation
  • Help with defining requirements and plan project life cycle deployment
  • Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals and milestones

What you’ll need to have

  • BS degree in business, computer science, or an engineering discipline required. MBA preferred
  • 7+ years of Product Management or product design experience (including experience leading product management team)
  • Must have experience managing a team and providing guidance, refinement and detail of an initial idea, helping teammates build out a detailed implementation plan, and leading a team to deliver on the vision of a product
  • Detail oriented and able to present product strategy as an executable detailed plan
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience conveying complex technical/design information in simple, digestible formats to nontechnical employees/team members
  • Understanding of UX/UI development and design principles
  • Experience designing user interfaces (e.g. ability to create examples through wire frames and mock-ups if needed)
  • Understanding of the technical architecture of enterprise, web and mobile applications
  • Experience working with technical staff (e.g. engineers, software developers)
