Responsible for defining and managing the value proposition, work plan, resource needs, timeline, and budget for projects. Organizes and drives resources (capital, staff, tools) to achieve project objectives on time, within scope, and on budget. Responsibilities include overall project planning, direction, prioritization, change management, delivery, and post-delivery evaluation. Ensures project scope, planning, and implementation align with client expectations and business needs. Ensures alignment between multiple projects.

Summary:

Contributes to day-to-day operations in the Whole Foods Market Retail Lab. This lab will be where new and enhanced tech solutions for store ordering, inventory management and retail applications will be tested to ensure they are properly vetted for release in WFM stores. This position will need to be able to execute basic store processes for all teams in the store including ordering, stocking, production, shrink and quality inspection. All positions must be able to work on a team that has constant shift in duties as well as is constantly testing WFM technology innovations. All positions must strive to support WFM core values and goals, promote national programs and initiatives, and ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety regulations including Food Safety and regulatory duties required in the department. All Whole Foods Market Retail jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.
All positions will be assigned a point area of the store (Perishable, Non-Perishable and Culinary) but must be able to work all functions and sub teams.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Has or can build a working knowledge of all team level operations and process including but not limited to: all ordering, inventory management and retail application tools.

  • Ensures a fresh and appealing display by keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked by front-facing, checking codes, rotating and removing out-of-date products.

  • Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.

  • Assists with periodic inventory checks.

  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work; works all scheduled shifts and attends required trainings and meetings.

  • Follows and complies, or ensures compliance, with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.

  • Maintains, or ensures maintenance of, a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment; maintains equipment in accordance with WFM

cleanliness and safety standards. Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned; ensures accuracy of signs and pricing.

  • Executes basic production needs to ensure product packed in house is in-stock.

  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by lab and Global leadership.

  • Understands retail, grocery experience, and common software and networking infrastructure.

  • Guarantees all lab resources follow WFM’s lab standards and guidelines.

  • Actively contributes to a positive work environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect and exceptional morale.

  • Execute all SOPs in a precise manner and provide critical feedback on the experience provided by the SOP

  • Regularly inspect the store to ensure compliance with all programs, rules and standards.

  • Able to receive direction and execute testing with new tools and SOPs.

  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products and carried in department.

  • Ability to learn all basic operational processes in all store departments.

  • Operates effectively in a fast-paced cross-functional environment to drive clear outcome and results.

  • Contributes to local / regional strategy development and ensures appropriate team focus and alignment.

  • Ability to order and stock product.

  • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.

  • Ability to follow SOPs.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong to excellent communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.

Education & Experience

• 12+ months retail or similar experience. WFM experience preferred.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  • Must be based out of Austin, TX.

  • Ability to physically perform general office and retail requirements.

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and work from ladders of various heights not exceeding 12 feet.

  • Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.

  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.

  • Exposure to temperatures: 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.

  • May require use of ladders.
