Design plays an integral role in Duo's mission to democratize security. Our Product Design, Design Research, and Design Enablement teams work alongside our engineering and product peers. We place a high value on inclusivity, using and teaching design thinking principles to bring together diverse perspectives and skills sets. A Senior Design Program Manager at Duo...
• Seeks out ways to support design team members in doing their best work as we tackle an ambitious product roadmap.
• Is an active participant in the design process and loves collaborating with the team.
• Manages a program of work that extends across the design team and keeps the work on track to drive successful outcomes.
• Excels at decision-making, consensus building, and communications. Obsesses over the details and loves a good list.
• Gets excited about managing multiple priorities, assessing urgency and staying flexible.
• Sees the whole picture - has an eye on the immediate work at hand, identifies potential risk, and plans for the future.
• Partners with product, engineering, and design leadership to plan and prioritize work on a quarterly basis.
• Creates scalable and repeatable work processes that result in great outcomes and a positive team experience.
In this role you will...
• Partner with design managers and team members to ensure critical work is on track to meet goals and business objectives.
• Support the Head of Design and design leadership in managing cross functional communications and strategic planning.
• Form relationships and orchestrate communication across design, engineering, and product management teams.
• Own and manage an operating model that coordinates team members, project milestones, timelines, and action items across multiple work streams.
• Measure the success of design work and look to continuously improve team collaboration and design delivery.
• Ability to identify dependencies, reach out to impacted teams and communicate clearly to ensure stakeholders stay informed.
Experience you bring includes...
• Working with design, product management, and engineering teams to successfully deliver work across multiple concurrent projects.
• Enjoys working with creative design and research teams.
• Examples of complex strategic initiatives you have led with cross functional teams.
• Tools and strategies for managing design team timelines, resources, and action items.
• Project ownership and an eagerness to go above and beyond, identify risks and deliver impactful outcomes.

It can be as quick as some karma in Slack. We do team appreciations at the start of team meetings and Cisco has connected recognition which allows individuals to recognize the great work someone has done along with a monetary award, from $25 on up! What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

Our cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and designers, as well as product and security experts is building an intuitive adaptive authentication system. We’re moving past basic rule-based approaches to create a dynamic experience that people will love for keeping them secure while staying unobtrusive.

What are some things you learned at the company?

Early on, I thought that success in the security industry was attributed solely to people's ideas or intellect. Since then, I've learned that the most important thing to have in any industry is empathy. Without empathy, you can't build a product that people will love or a place that people will want to work. Empathy is a foundation for success.
