Tech Program Manager
Be a part of a team managing strategic projects in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidate will have strong technical qualities and 7 to 10+ years of technical agile/project/program management experience with demonstrated history of working with e-commerce companies. Work day-to-day with various stakeholders/peers in engineering and quality disciplines to help delivery technical projects on-time and under budget.
What you’ll do:
- Work cross-functionally with scrum and project teams on initiatives and provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders.
- Help shape technical solutions and designs to meeting the needs of our company.
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of multiple projects including maintaining artifacts for planning, execution and close-out of key initiatives.
- Manage scope changes, manage a risk register as well as follow-up on action items to ensure high quality and on-time initiatives by escalating issues in a timely fashion.
- Effectively apply best practice methodology, inspect, adapt and enforce standards.
- Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Identify dependencies across all delivery teams and track them to ensure that teams are in sync.
- Remove barriers, communicate and escalate as required.
- Work closely with the Product Managers to ensures that the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is clear and understood by all project or delivery teams
- Work with Change Management to ensure that Features are properly scheduled and aligned with a bottoms up team plan or other critical deadlines
- Coordinate with the product managers, business analysts, tech leads and various stakeholders to ensure that plans are in alignment with any go to market schedules
- Demonstrate measurable progress by facilitating demonstration of integrated features
- Hold Teams accountable to make and meet commitments
- Work well with people and thrive under stress
- Be able to understand when to focus on deadline and when to focus on quality
- Natural multi-tasker: capable of juggling many tasks and making sure they all get done
- Provide timely information to Portfolio Management for investment decisions
- Be a team player by filling in for other projects or scrum teams as needed
Qualifications:
- 7 to 10+ years prior experience in leading cross-functional software development and infrastructure projects following multiple types of delivery methods (waterfall/scrum/etc)
- 5+ years’ experience in managing multi-team programs in infrastructure, application and data management, DevOps, cloud migration and site reliability projects
- Strong understanding and practice in cloud hosting, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Akamai, etc), Data Centers, NOC, monitoring/alerting, CISCO network topologies, MySQL and various other data technologies
- Proven success in building strong relationships, managing stakeholder expectations and able to communicate at all levels with excellent oral and written skills
- Ability to work across time zones and in a distributed collaborative environment
- Expertise in designing and implementing High Availability systems and BCP/DR operations
- Expert experience with conflict resolution, scope management, issue & risk tracking, communicating to clients and partners and vendor management
- Natural multi-tasker: capable of juggling many tasks and making sure they all get done
- Strong facilitation skills at multiple levels of an organization
- Experience managing programs of work spanning across various software stacks
Preferred Skills:
- Consulting or start up experience (preferably Lean Startup)
- CSP, ACP, PMP Certifications
- Microsoft Project or similar expertise
- Strong knowledge of LegalZoom Project Management standard tools such as VersionOne and Confluence
- Experience with cloud providers, network technologies, and DevOps processes
