Overview:

Reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance, the QA Engineer will serve as an integral part of the Product Development team responsible for testing our solutions for scheduling, hiring, and labor management. You will plan, document, and execute functional test plans and test cases for new product features in an Agile based environment. This role is required to assess/analyze product specifications and verify against design requirements. You will also identify and document software defects and verify fixed defects.

Patient and dedicated, you have a passion for testing and building world class software that makes a difference. You are able to work collaboratively and in sync with developers and product managers during product development. You are great at multitasking, time management, and understanding the product and feature set from the client's point of view. Most importantly, you have a high attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Doing exploratory testing of web applications in a service-oriented environment (SaaS)
  • Defining and executing test plans and test cases
  • Analyzing requirements for gaps and contradictions
  • Prioritizing tests by gathering knowledge from developers and product managers
  • Tracking down sporadic or complex issues using technical and analytical troubleshooting
  • Writing clear and concise bug tickets

Helpful Skills and Experience:

  • Testing web services directly using tools like SoapUI or Postman
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and writing SQL queries for test verification
  • Writing test utilities or automated tests with a scripting or programming language
  • General understanding of web application architecture
  • Using browser developer tools to test responsive design, resource loading, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Only Austin based candidates will be considered
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to work in the US without visa sponsorship
