Senior Sales Engineer II

The primary function of the Senior Sales Engineer II is to assist the Account Executives (Salesperson) during the pre-sale discovery phase to analyze the Real Estate and Facilities Management needs of the prospective client. This position will be focused in our retail suite of products and thus experience in Lease Administration/Lease Accounting is strongly preferred. Through extensive interaction, the incumbent will be responsible for designing and presenting solutions using the current suite of Accruent’s technology that integrates into the prospect/client’s current environment and meets business objectives. This individual will be trained in market and technical knowledge to consult on best practices as they relate to Real Estate and Facilities solutions and effectively communicating these recommendations to prospects and customers in both presentations and custom demonstrations. 

As a member of the Sales team, the Sales Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert for SaaS, enterprise pursuits and strategic accounts and will become a key influence on senior and executive leadership concerning product delivery and product strategy. Additional responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth transition of customers to the professional services team and working with Product Management to convey customer and prospect requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary solution specialist, architect and technical contact for prospective clients and for net new opportunities
  • Consults with client to gather discovery in order to tailor the solution
  • Conducts product demonstrations when necessary, and assist in removing obstacles that may exist during the sales cycle
  • Responding to RFIs, RFPs and proposals when needed
  • In charge of developing presentations and on-line product demonstrations for customer/prospect meetings
  • Identify and help drive new uses of the Accruent’s suite of solutions
  • Supports Product Management with field information such as feature requirements, product enhancements and new use case scenarios
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with influencers and technology leaders
  • Working with Professional Services to develop SOW’s and communicate best practices
  • Travel required (40-60%)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • 5-8 years in Sales Engineering or equivalent required
  • Knowledge of FASB/IASB strongly preferred
  • Experience in Financial Accounting software such as Oracle or SAP strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent)
  • Background in consulting, project management, business process mapping and/or business analytics is helpful
  • Knowledge of SaaS/Hosted/On-Premises based enterprise technologies preferred; presentation, integration, DB and foundation layers
  • Experience with database management functions, including cleansing, deduplication, validation and segmentation required
  • Solid understanding of internet technologies and trends (such as HTML, Flash, JavaScript, XML, Perl, web servers/technology, streaming media) required
  • Experience with some of the following; Java (JSP), .NET, ASP.NET, C++, C#, SQL Server, Oracle, Linux, Salesforce.com and Microsoft technologies is an asset
  • Experience supporting a Business Intelligence application is a plus
  • Experience in Lease Accounting or Lease Administration strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be customer focused and have the ability to manage and resolve solutions to complex technical issues
  • Proven ability to gain cooperation of others, proven leadership skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional business and technical teams to provide quick and timely responses to prospects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Executive presence with ability to lead brainstorming and interactive sessions with an audience of senior decision makers from sales and marketing
  • Highly motivated, hands on personality
  • Experience in Demo Framing preferred
  • Understanding of MEDDIC is a plus
