The Role

Our Infrastructure Engineering team supports Tesla's fast growth by building and operating hyper-scale datacenters, developing various infrastructure services and making sure they are scalable and are reliable. Our Senior Technical Project Manager on the Infrastructure team will drive critical Datacenter infrastructure initiatives in partnership with business stakeholders and across engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Program lifecycle from inception to closure ensuring effective communication and timely, high quality delivery
  • Drive all aspects of project management (planning incorporating dependencies, key milestones and deliverables, data gathering, analysis, communication, risk management and mitigation, status tracking and reporting, implementation, monitoring, execution, and delivery of the initiative/project
  • Drive strategic, cross-team initiatives
  • Coordinate with the Construction/facilities/vendors/Datacenter operations and Infrastructure teams on the build tasks/activities
  • Influence and collaborate across teams to effectively, negotiate competing requirements, ensure alignment and project progress, and improve processes
  • Communicate project plans and risks and issues to stakeholders
  • Partner with various business teams and leadership to identify and solve challenges
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for the business and the program stakeholders
  • Multitask across multiple programs/builds parallely

Requirements

  • 5+ years project management experience driving and managing complex, cross functional technical projects - Datacenter setup/migration, Network programs, Disaster recovery setup, operations, telecom, and/or security. Experience coordinating complex infrastructure builds a big plus
  • Strong experience with project management tools including Confluence, Jira
  • Strong infrastructure technical knowledge of Data Center and architectures such as Network, Windows, VMWare, Linux, Storage, Backup, and Middleware
  • Self-starter, responsible, comprehensive, follow-through, passionate
  • Ability to match the Tesla fast pace & culture
  • Excellent attention to detail skills and ability to multitask
