Job Description

  • Install, configure, and manage IBM DataPower Gateway appliances.

  • Implement security policies and configure SSL/TLS connections.

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

  • Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.

  • Administer, monitor, and manage the API gateway infrastructure to ensure high availability and optimal performance.

  • Work with development teams to design and implement API strategies.

  • Develop and enforce API policies and procedures.

  • Manage API security measures, including authentication, authorization, and threat protection.

  • Coordinate with IT and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve API-related issues.

  • Conduct regular reviews of the API gateway performance and make recommendations for improvements.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in API management and integration.

  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.

  • Implement and maintain web services on DataPower such as REST, SOAP.

  • Document system configurations, updates, and propose improvements.

  • Conduct system performance tuning and capacity planning.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven 4+ years experience as an IBM DataPower Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of IBM DataPower Gateway appliances.
• Familiarity with security protocols, SSL/TLS, OAuth, and web services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of SOA and API architectures would be a plus.
• Certification in IBM DataPower administration is preferred.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 119,100.00 to 172,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
