Edit your friends’ video posts with Videotape for iOS

After months of beta testing, the video sharing app Videotape launched publicly earlier this week. Edit your friends’ video posts with Videotape for iOS
After months of beta testing, the video sharing app launched publicly earlier this week. (You can download the app for iPhone here.) Maybe you’ve heard of it already: It’s like Vine on steroids, a feed of short videos posted by other users that you can embellish with jumpcuts of your own footage or voiceover. The mashup clips can be as long as 40 seconds.

The idea is to make the experience of video sharing more interactive than tapping a like button or leaving a text comment. And after playing with it for a while here at Built In Austin, it feels like a very natural next step in crowd collaboration. At least for screwing around on social media.

And since Fridays are all about screwing around, here are our five favorite posts on Videotape for your enjoyment.
