About the role

The Associate, Healthcare Data is responsible for analyzing, organizing, and managing operational data to optimize business processes and drive efficiency. The Associate works closely with various departments to identify data-related challenges and develop strategies to improve data quality, integrity, and accessibility. The Associate, Healthcare Data also ensures accurate & timely delivery of required reporting.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Operational Insights.

Work Location:

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $93,600 - $122,850 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $84,240 - $110,565 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify healthcare data-related challenges and develop comprehensive solutions.
  • Produce required data deliverables and provide technical & analytical support for Oscar’s Operations
  • Develop and implement healthcare data management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure ongoing data integrity and accuracy.
  • Create custom queries to facilitate ad-hoc requests and utilize data to validate assumptions
  • Monitor and evaluate data management systems and processes to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years professional experience debugging and solving complex data problems with demonstrated success digging into data to discover root causes and drive solutions
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing strong SQL skills (i.e. inner joins, left joins, multiple join conditions, aggregate functions, and subqueries without the use of supporting resources)
  • 2+ years of experience with data management principles, data governance, and data quality assurance
  • 2+ years of experience designing and/or improving data models, with experience defining requirements, documenting, and partnering with technical teams for execution
  • 2+ years of experience presenting and delivering messages to senior leadership. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Expert in Excel and/or Google Sheets with 3+ years of experience
  • Experience working with Healthcare data

Bonus Points

  • A bachelor’s degree or significant demonstrated success in field
  • Experience working in operations management or process improvement roles.
  • Background in health insurance 
  • Experience automating and/or designing data pipelines

Pay Transparency: 

Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
