We are looking for excellent Data Scientists to join our growing 20+ strong team. This position focuses on geolocation services and inventory optimization. This role will work closely with our traveler product team to help identify desirable vacation rentals in popular destinations. The machine learning algorithms you develop will ensure travelers find exactly what they are looking for while booking in vacation areas. Experience with GIS systems helpful, but not required.


Responsibilities:

  • Apply best-in-class machine learning and optimization techniques to solve business problems
  • Produce novel insights with machine learning to inform company strategy
  • Produce informative visualizations to describe vacation areas
  • Assist other teams with data curation and preparation
  • Help build core feedback loops in our marketplace
  • Work end-to-end on “studio projects” that you conceive, develop, and promote within the company
  • Attend conferences and read papers to stay on top of advancements in the field


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Data Science and analytics fields
  • Experience with Python programming languages, as well as pydata packages like numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, and bokeh
  • Experience applying machine learning models to business problems
  • Ability and passion to learn new techniques and stay on the cutting edge
  • Strong database knowledge and expertise in SQL, Elasticsearch, and Hadoop ecosystems
  • Experience with map visualization a plus
  • Good Storytelling and presentation skills
  • Masters or PhD in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or other quantitative field
