She/he, will be a high performer who is client-oriented, ambitious, results driven, articulate and focused on building relationships that achieve MLC’s revenue goals.

The candidate will primarily be responsible for generating new business and maintaining those relationships to continue to achieve our 30% repeat client rate. The Sales Director will work closely with the CEO and Director of Strategic Partnerships to sell the entire suite of retail and bespoke products. The ideal candidate will be interested in working in a high-paced, entrepreneurial environment with high compensation upside.


Core Sales Duties:

  • Drive significant profitably by extending sales of current client base and performing new business development.

  • Establish and maintain high-level business relationships with clients

    • Extend and deepen the current relationships with existing clients

    • Perform new business development to identify, categorize and build new relationships

  • Plan and prioritize sales activities and client/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business aims, including costs and sales - especially managing personal time and productivity

  • Plan and manage personal business portfolio according to an agreed market development strategy

  • Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims

  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant information

  • Develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills via training, observation, research and industry engagement.

  • Perform segmentation of corporate clients to better understand clients and potential opportunities

    • by industry (i.e., financial firms, law firms, advertising / PR firms, media/entertainment, other professional services)

    • by product type (corporate gifting, loyalty programs, events, etc.)

  • Partner with MLC marketing department to create appropriate marketing materials to drive increased corporate sales

  • Work independently against a variety of objectives with minimal direct supervision and exceed client expectations and company expectations


Client Service:

  • Maintain appropriate contact with clients to optimize quality of service, business growth, and client satisfaction

  • Ensure each client is provided with the MLC luxury experience at every single touch point


Sales Management:

  • Develop an overall Corporate Sales strategy, including a quarterly, 2017 and 3 year road map

  • Identify the key elements required to attain aggressive corporate channel growth targets and work with MLC management to ensure successful achievement of goals

  • Recruit and develop high performance sales team when appropriate

    • Determine appropriate time-frame when additional resources should be brought on to grow corp sales quickly and profitably

    • Provide strong coaching and development to less experienced sales associates

    • Ensure that key to the team’s focus is appropriately communicating the MLC brand image

  • Implement an overall sales process, including lead generation, qualification process, pipeline analysis, close process, and overall sales cycle management

  • Find the right balance between direct selling activities and team leadership, as this role will always have a selling component and a managing component


Administrative:

  • Interact and work closely on a regular basis with the appropriate staff at MLC headquarters (Marketing, Operations, Finance, etc.) to successfully accomplish what is required

  • Participate in the development of the annual budget and budget revisions, and work within the constraints of the budget
