What is the opportunity?

The People team is looking for an HR Manager to lead the design and building of learning and development initiatives at our expanding company and to assist with HR Programs. As an HR Manager at Main Street Hub, your goal will be to manage departmental trainers, identify training and development needs across the company and prescribe the most effective programs to address those needs. In addition, you will manage and support various HR programs that are both in place or being developed.

Here’s a sampling of what you’ll tackle in this role:

  • Advise managers & employees on issues - identifying performance improvement, identifying key talent, and succession planning
  • Provide coaching and consulting to managers regarding workforce planning, employee relations, and employee training and development
  • Track and report key metrics to business leaders
  • Conducts annual training and development needs assessment to identify areas to be addressed by impactful training programs
  • Proposes training and development programs and objectives to strategic business partners
  • Obtains and/or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of mediums
  • Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts
  • Plan, organize and facilitate employee development and training events
  • Manage and oversee the development of your office operations team
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Consult & influence managers to maximize organizational effectiveness
  • Identify opportunities for change and partner with managers to initiate and drive the identified changes
  • Provide HR talent/insight to the talent management process
  • Educate and guide managers on compensation related issues
  • Advise on the training budget

What will it take to succeed?

  • 7+ years of HR business partner experience, or equivalent HR business partner experience in a start-up, high-volume sales, high growth or professional services environment is preferred
  • Previous leadership of learning and development initiatives across an organization is highly preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, HR or a related field is required
  • PHR Certification required
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to glean actionable insights
  • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy to resolve sensitive ER issues
  • Experience with rapid & complex changing work environment
  • Coaching, influencing, problem -solving, and facilitation skills are critical
  • Demonstrated effective written & verbal communication skills
  • Success at designing and executing development, retention, and reward programs that meet client needs
  • Demonstrated integrity and ethics in handling confidential information
  • Demonstrated knowledge of employment law (federal and state)
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Enthusiasm for local businesses and a fit with Main Street Hub values
