About the Team

The Roku People’s team is comprised of trusted consultants to our People Partners and the business leaders at Roku. We are responsible for all aspects of the employee’s journey whilst working at Roku – from onboarding through payroll as well as implementation, administration, and evolution of compensation and benefits programs across Roku globally.

We’re looking for a People Operations Specialist (HR Operations Specialist) to join us in our Boston, MA or Austin, TX office, and join our team as we scale and improve programs for our current employees as well as develop new programs for our rapid business growth globally. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have extensive global experience in HR Operations and Benefits Administration. Reporting to the Manager, People Operations, this is a 'hands-on' position that requires strong attention to detail, project coordination, and skills to support our global processes as well as global expansion projects.


About the Role

In this role, the ideal candidate will support the benefits administration of Leave of Absence programs, be responsible for the timely completion and reporting of benefits compliance processes, as well as supporting general HR actions. The candidate will be assisting in the implementation and administration of scalable HR processes, policies, and practices for most countries in which the company operates. In this role, the candidate will be required to maintain detailed knowledge of assigned HR and Benefits programs and support employee inquiries via the company’s case management tools. The candidate will serve as an escalation point collaborating with cross-functional partners across other Centers of Excellence (COEs) and vendors to support employee needs.

You will need to have an operational and global mindset. You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive programs and operational support with little to no guidance. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.


What you'll be doing

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the company’s Leave of Absence programs across multiple countries. Perform periodic audits on data integration between LOA brokers and the company’s HRIS, as well as support employees’ inquiries regarding LOAs.
  • Provide daily support to employee inquiries regarding 401(k), time away options, health, and life insurance programs, as well as other financial benefits such as but not limited to HSA, FSA, and Commuter Program.
  • Serve as the POC responsible for completing and reporting benefits compliance items such as 401(k) NDT, Worker’s Compensation Audits, and FSA NDT, among others.
  • Support and process requests for 401(k) Loans, ROEs, and QNECs.
  • Support and process General HR requests such as Employment Letters, requests for HRIS reports, as well as basic employee inquiries.
  • Ensure Workday system updates are complete for any employment lifecycle changes; inform key partners in the business processes.
  • Review, audit, correct, and report employment data through different external vendor and government tools ensuring the accuracy of integration of employee data.
  • Participate and support numerous UATs to improve, operationalize, and scale assigned support programs.
  • Support the creation and publishing of internal process documents, training materials, and employee-facing KB articles of assigned support processes and programs.
  • Seek opportunities to leverage technology to minimize data errors and unscalable manual processes. Proactively identify areas of improvement, risks, and concerns across assigned processes and programs.


We're excited if you have

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 5 years of work experience in Benefits Administration or HR Operations
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal), organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluency in English a must; other languages a plus, i.e. Dutch, German, Danish, Portuguese
  • Broad understanding of Global HR Operations and thorough knowledge of HR policies & procedures
  • Experience with US benefits is a must; experience with benefits in other countries is a plus
  • Systems and technical aptitude; advanced skills in Microsoft Suite and Workday
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, rapidly evolving business environment
  • Perform well under pressure, multi-task, work independently and as a part of a team
  • Flexible and able to quickly change course when the needs of the business and our team
  • shift direction or accelerate delivery
  • You love to help shape dynamic and scalable processes
  • Comfortable handling highly confidential employee data regularly
  • High-tech industry experience preferred
