About the Role:
RetailMeNot is building out our growing Retail and Brand Solutions team with the creation of a new Sales Planning team! Sales Planning will report up through the SVP of Sales and will own our media planning processes.
 
As the Sales Planning Manager, you will manage a team of Sales Planners, providing them with strategic account guidance, process improvement initiatives, mentorship, career development, and air cover on cross-functional partnerships. Your team will develop media plans and build offers/assets to meet client’s needs. They will partner with account teams of 4-8 Account Directors and Account Managers, and will have ownership of the media plans in the combined portfolio of those account teams.
 
Day-to-day, a Sales Planner will assist the Account Directors with development of media plans, reserve and book placements, run approvals processes, build savings content to use in media, and optimize bookings. As the manager, you'll direct the work scope of the team, provide coaching, stay close to the volume of work/bottlenecks, and find opportunities for improvement.
 
You'll work closely with the Account Management Team Leads, Directors of Sales, and in some cases the Vice Presidents of Sales, on team optimization strategies. The ideal candidate is passionate about people development, coaching, cross functional collaboration and partnership, and well-versed in project management.
 
Candidates must be in Austin, TX or willing to relocate. Start date will be in early May 2017 and is not flexible.
What you'll do:
  • Lead a team of Sales Planners who are also part of smaller account teams
  • Coach Sales Planners on professional development and optimization of work product
  • Foster partnerships with Account Manager Team Leads and Directors of Sales
  • Lead 1 of 3 Sales account teams / collaborate consistently with other 2 pillars
  • Focus consistently on the most efficient workflows for the team with constant process improvement and innovation
  • Cultivate relationships with Advertising Operations leaders to build cross-functional efficiencies in media booking and trafficking
  • Communicate internally with cross functional partners to keep team abreast of prioritization, deadlines, etc.
  • Manage and update workflow documentation
Experience:
  • 4+ years of relevant digital media experience
  • At least 1 year of prior people management experience
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Operative, and Tableau
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intrinsically motivated self-starter who takes initiative without being asked
  • Success-motivated with a keen eye for efficiency
  • Project management expertise with extraordinary follow up and the ability to boil down complex problems into succinct solutions
  • Multi-tasking and re-prioritization master
  • Confident personality with strong communication skills and desire for collaboration
  • Positive, upbeat attitude!
