What You'll Do:
As a Senior Accountant supporting the Accounting team, you will own aspects of tax-related accounting and general ledger-related activities ranging from proper application of U.S. GAAP for accounting transactions, preparing GL account reconciliations, participating in monthly close, and providing financial reporting. The ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving and communication skills and enjoys working in a challenging and complex environment. In this role, you will:

  • Provide outside consultants with the financial information needed to prepare and file various tax and business returns; review tax returns before filing for accuracy.
  • Assist with tax related requests from internal and external sources, investigating issues and following up on deliverables.
  • Maintain the Company's good standing qualifications in necessary states and work with our registered agents to promptly mitigate issues that may arise.
  • Perform assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing processes, including preparation of journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist in the development of financial statements and reports.
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business structure and operations, financial reporting, and the general ledger to assist with intercompany AR & AP reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the accounting team by participating in cross-training, sharing job responsibilities, and serving as position backup for other team members.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure proper accounting for transactions.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate internal accounting controls, systems, and procedures to ensure both timely and accurate financial reports.
  • Document policies, procedures and workflows for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, to reduce errors, improve efficiency, remove redundancy, expedite reporting and enhancing business reporting initiatives.
  • Support month-end analysis and reporting requests as well as ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Lead the Company's assessment of technical accounting matters, including research and documentation for a variety of complex and non-standard transactions. Coordinate and oversee the adoption of new standards, as well as certain general corporate accounting matters.
  • Play a key role in the annual audit process with external auditors.


Requirements:
You are an experienced accountant who loves being hands-on and digging into the details. You get excited about problem-solving and improving processes and procedures. You love numbers and understand the complexities of various types of taxes. You enjoy being part of a team that works together to support the continued success of the company as a whole.

  • CPA Certification required.
  • A proven background in tax accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • A successful track record of improving processes and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Intacct and Avalara is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with accounting concepts related to the SaaS industry is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and intensely deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to relate and communicate effectively across all levels of staff inside and outside the department.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a hybrid environment, including proactively seeking solutions from internal and external resources.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, quickly determine the requirements to accomplish them, and analyze the processes to figure out how to simplify, automate and improve them for increased efficiency.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and a sense of strong business ethics.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience, through a mix of Big 4 experience, plus corporate accounting with a public company and demonstrated increase of responsibilities and leadership preferably in the technology industry.

Compensation
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity.
US Base Salary Range: $84,900 - $105,000
Please note that the compensation range specified in this job posting is applicable to candidates based in the United States. For international applicants, actual salary offers may vary based on the local market compensation standards and will be determined in accordance with regional considerations, including but not limited to applicable laws, cost of living, and industry norms.
