In particular, we’ll be looking for you to play a key role in developing and driving our compliance strategy, including on key international data privacy matters. You’ll do this by partnering with teams across the organization to design and implement compliance-oriented and risk-mitigating strategies. By mastering our business, and by remaining up-to-date on relevant industry, privacy, intellectual property and other high-tech laws and developments, you’ll thrive as a trusted advisor and creative problem-solver for the business. It’s a demanding position, but you won't be doing it alone. You’ll work with an amazing, supportive team in a fast-paced, fun environment.

- Substantial experience in US and international laws, standards and best practices governing privacy, data protection, marketing, and intellectual property
- A solid understanding of software and technology, and the proven ability to counsel the business about related legal issues
- Hypergrowth, innovative businesses excite you, and you’re always eager to master new areas of the law
- You’re good at building and sustaining productive relationships with all kinds of people across many functional teams
- You have a proven track record of providing practical advice and thinking creatively and strategically about legal and business issues
- You don’t have clear, articulable reasons for why you want to work at Duo or a clear vision of the value that you will bring to this role
- You’ll need to be quick on your feet and adaptable in order to thrive as we scale our business in a constantly changing environment - so, if you can’t handle ambiguity or changing priorities, then this may not be the right fit for you
- You view the in-house legal function exclusively as the “Office of No,” and lack the entrepreneurial mindset necessary to balance business objectives and legal risk
