Senior Manager, Marketing Automation
BigCommerce, named "Best Place to Work" in Austin in 2016 is looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Automation to join our team! You are a leader, operator, technologist and problem solver par excellence who wants to join a demand center to build and optimize an acquisition and engagement marketing machine.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Content + SEO + Campaigns, you will serve as the leader of our Demand Center & Campaigns team as we continue on our journey towards world-class marketing capabilities, operations and infrastructure.
What You’ll Do
Execute & Maintain Marketo Programs
- On a day-to-day basis, lead, execute and maintain marketing programs across our acquisition, customer, and partner marketing segments.
- Lead the build and execution phases of email sends, nurture and triggered flows, landing pages, operational data management and maintenance programs, and more.
Serve as a Role Model and People Leader
- Lead, inspire, manage, and mentor direct reports to maximize their individual potential and professional growth as well as ability to function effectively as a team.
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the team to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and scalability including building reporting and managing team metrics.
- Build a culture of accountability and crossing the finish line.
- Cultivate an environment of teamwork, openness, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Support and assist the team with all aspects of the Campaigns process.
Design & Implement New Marketing Processes in Marketo
- Identify campaign related opportunities and challenges, collaboratively design elegant marketing processes to solve them, and implement them in Marketo.
Monitor, QA & Troubleshoot Marketing Technology
- Troubleshooting Marketo issues, identifying root causes, and creating fixes which may involve cross-departmental collaboration, inside and outside of Marketo.
Create & Improve Internal Processes
- Continuously drive improvement and innovation around our marketing automation processes, from our project management and internal delivery model to our contact strategy and customer lifecycle to our marketing technology stack.
Measure & Improve Existing Marketing Programs
- Be the expert on how our programs are doing at driving successful business outcomes. Facilitate data-driven improvement sessions and implement the results from cross-functional ideation.
Create World-Class Marketing Capabilities
- Lead initiatives with high strategic value, potentially including self-service programs, verticalization and internationalization, action-based events and emails, and a lifecycle-centric engagement architecture.
- Own and execute key initiatives in these strategic areas, collaborating with stakeholders across the organization.
Who You Are
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Business or similar field.
- 7+ years marketing experience in software, agency, or internet services environments, including 3+ years people management experience. Combination of enterprise and SMB marketing experience a plus.
- Technically Experienced
- 3+ Years Marketo/marketing automation experience, ideally including 2+ years owning Marketo instance for a B2B software organization.
- Advanced Marketo skills; Marketo Certified Expert Certification a plus
- Advanced SFDC skills; admin certification a plus
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; basic SQL knowledge; R, Python & other programming languages a plus
- Basic web marketing, CMS, & HTML knowledge required; CSS/JS and PHP/Python/other programming languages a plus

- Process and Project Manager - You can readily design practices, processes, and procedures, know what to measure and how to measure it, can organize people and activities, and are good at figuring out the processes necessary to get things done. Lean/Agile experience and JIRA is a plus.
- Master Communicator - Excellent written/verbal communication and customer relationship skills are critical.
