The Role

With the company's rapid expansion, Tesla's Mobility & Immigration program has experienced tremendous growth. The Head of Global Mobility & Immigration will lead a global team, and be responsible for the design, strategy, planning, and execution of the program. This role requires someone with an operators mindset, and the ability to be both a strategic and hands-on leader. We are looking for candidates that are agile, able to move with speed, and can supercharge the program's overall goals. This role will report directly to the Sr. Director, HR. This position can be located at Tesla's Fremont or Austin facility.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively lead and manage the end-to-end global mobility and immigration programs and associated personnel/program managers. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with senior leaders across our Executive and People team
  • Define the overall program's priorities and strategic roadmap - will create strategy plans and proposals in partnership with other internal teams (Product Management; People Ops; TA; and HR)
  • Forecast and manage budgets for the global mobility and immigration program
  • Responsible for the successful execution and delivery of the team's overall roadmap of projects, both internally and with our external tax; relocation; and immigration partners
  • Define the team and programs targets; and ensure our vendors are meeting their SLAs
  • Utilizes excellent problem-solving skills and a data driven approach to identify problems. Can make business case, and influence/obtain buy-in from executives stakeholders
  • Provide timely, in-depth and comprehensive forecasts, projections and data as requested

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in global mobility and/or business immigration
  • Resourceful, self-starter with clear track record of success in fast paced environment
  • Excellent project management & organization skills, and with strong focus on developing the team's program management and vendor management skills
  • Experienced professional with an energetic disposition, great relationship skills, team player, self-starter, independent thinker, with the ability to anticipate and solve for big picture programmatic issues
  • Supports human resources leadership to formulate, determine, and effectuate management policies regarding mobility and immigration, including special access to confidential and sensitive personnel communication and records
  • Aligns conduct in performing all job duties and functions with human resources leadership goals and objectives, exercising good judgment in all interactions with Company employees
