T his role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Warren, MI or Austin, TX, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum
The Role:
The Applied Analytics & Insights (Digital, Customer & Growth Businesses) team is focused on execution-based analytics to help GM organizations achieve better business outcomes through contextualized solutions with targeted actions. The individual will work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of various experience levels that frame opportunities, wrangle the necessary data, and design and execute analytical models in support of better business decisions. The team is responsible for both advanced analytics strategy and applied, project-based solutions, focusing on the company's most critical business areas. The Staff Data Scientist will work closely with marketing teams on problems related to incrementality, measurement and experimentation.
What You'll Do:
- Work on a cross-functional team to propose and implement high-impact, data-driven solutions to address business challenges across a variety of business units
- Apply advanced data-driven modeling techniques to inform decision making and solve complex business problems:
- Create breakthrough solutions, performing exploratory and targeted data analyses
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Monitor and sustain model effectiveness
- Present complex information using data visualization techniques
- Work with diverse technical teams and provide data and analytical oversight to ensure project deliverables fulfill business needs and timing
- Identify long-term technical innovations while continuously improving execution efficiency
Your Skills & Abilities (Qualifications):
- Minimum five years of experience developing, deploying, and monitoring performance of statistical, AI, and/or machine learning based models.
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Operations Research, Psychometrics, Marketing Science, Finance, (Bio)Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or another quantitative field
- Proficient writing Python/R (modeling) and SQL/Spark (data), working with Pandas, StatsModels, PYMC, TensorFlow, Pytorch, Spark/ML, sklearn, numpy and related packages
- Desired expertise in marketing analytics and advanced methods such as: customer lifetime value, media mix modeling (MMM), multi-touch attribution (MTA), consumer choice (multinomial logit), time-series forecasting, hierarchical bayes, panel-data methods (fixed/random effects), censored/truncated regressions, selection models, non-random treatment effects, hazard /survival models, structural equation modeling, item response theory, latent class regression
- Prior experience with paid, earned, and owned media
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects at once without sacrificing quality
- Strong listening and communications skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Highly collaborative work style
- Ability to evaluate the big picture and provide meaningful business insights and actions
Additional Description
Compensation : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
- The salary range for this role is $116,100 - $181,600. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
