Our Ways of Working

We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees.

We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These offsites are expected of employees and are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.

What the Role Is

Babylist is seeking an Ad Operations Lead to manage Babylist’s suite of advertising products across direct media and affiliate revenue streams; develop, grow and successfully execute social campaigns on behalf of advertisers; and manage inventory across paid & barter channels. You love solving large, complex challenges, and are excited about rolling up your sleeves to directly manage campaigns and dig into the data behind them. Ultimate success in this role is maximizing yield, creating new sources of revenue, and running high-performing campaigns.  You’ll work primarily within the Partnerships Team, with opportunities to collaborate with other functions including Design, Growth Marketing, Content / Editorial and Finance / Accounting. This role will report to the Head of Account Management.

Who You Are

  • You’ve managed inventory with a wide range of ad products-including social media, email, events, video, etc
  • Have experience and value working with a branded content team that prioritizes custom content and editorial integrity over programmatic
  • You’re equal parts creative and analytical, able to demonstrate how you’ve launched creative inventory management solutions grounded in data to improve sell-through and revenue
  • You’ve managed ad inventory and campaigns utilizing Boostr
  • You love digging into the data and have experience with analytics tools and ad ops tools such as Boostr, Netsuite, Meta Campaign Manager, Google Analytics, Microsoft Excel, Sigma, Looker, Thoughtspot and Indicative
  • You’re super organized and an excellent project manager with a proven track record of managing $50M+ inventory
  • You’re passionate about putting parents first and hungry to better serve them and their families in this new life stage

How You Will Make An Impact

  • This person will ensure that Babylist campaigns are served accurately and efficiently while working across both media and partner commissions revenue streams to package and incentivize campaign sell through to maximizing Babylist and Expectful yield
  • Own Babylist and Expectful’s advertising inventory management across the Rate Card
  • Maximize yield of Babylist and Expectful ad inventory by managing the and added value remnant program across Partnerships and Partner Commissions
  • Pull all campaign monthly reporting and keep benchmarks up-to-date, ensuring Babylist teams understand how inventory is performing across categories and partners
  • Own the relationship with, and operation of, Boostr as a pipeline management and BI tool
  • Support VP Partnerships and Head of Account Management with the expansion of new ad opportunities and tools on Expectful, as appropriate
  • Assist with managing ad inventory opportunities for internal stakeholders, including the Babylist Shop, email, social, and other teams
  • Maintain high sell-through rate and revenue potential by creating systems that will optimize time-bound inventory across partner campaigns
  • Be a source for the Partnership’s teams' data pulling and reporting needs related to Monthly reporting and QBRs
  • Work with Head of Account Management to pitch, process and execute new ad products
  • Follow industry trends in advertising and propose potential ad products where there are current gaps

An Insider's view of Babylist

What are some social events your company does?

We stay connected to each other through Slack, virtual events, or meeting up in person. It is essential as a remote company that we are intentional about seeing each other in person and use that time to build strong relationships. We have an annual company off-site and department off-sites that focus on connecting with each other as whole humans.

Becky Lehman

Senior Manager, Employee Engagement

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

Ensuring inbound supply chain processes can match our growth. The biggest problem we face is ensuring our processes and systems can grow with us. To enable sustainable solutions to this we focus on four key themes: Be extremely good at the basics, automation of manual tasks, continuous improvement, and creating actionable dashboards and reports.

Josh Woods

Director, Inbound Operations

What are some things you learned at the company?

Effective asynchronous communication is the key to working remotely. Being able to provide generous, carefully-considered updates with just enough detail to ensure your reader understands your reasoning is a powerful skill that I see on display every day.

Andy Aragon

Sr. Software Engineer

How do you empower your team to be more creative?

Our implementation teams have full responsibility for delivering their projects. We provide them with a well-defined problem statement and a workable solution outline. Then, it’s up to the team to work out the details of the project, set tasks, adjust the scope, and get creative to deliver in a fixed period of time.

TJ Moretto

VP of Engineering

What projects are you most excited about?

I’m excited to integrate our partner brands into the metaverse with the launch of Babylist Land, a virtual registry and gifting experience. Gen Z and Millenial parents want to buy in virtual environments, and Babylist Land will integrate our brand partners in this experience to drive high engagement and ultimately, registry additions and sales.
