B2B Strategic Programs Operations Director
In this role, the B2B Strategic Programs Operations Director is key to closing the gap between strategy, development and execution of LegalZoom’s B2B Sales and Innovation Practice. As an internal Lean Startup, we’re transforming offerings, go-to-market strategies and how we partner with customers. This role requires leveraging project management skills, organizational strategy, and business know-how to deliver maximum value. You must continuously be cognizant of full business context and the interplay of people internally, externally and most importantly, from the inside-out, small-to-medium (SMB) client’s perspective.
Responsibilities
- Define program scope, objectives, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Manage a multitude of cross-functional stakeholder expectations, ensure that appropriate governance processes and advocacy plans are in place, facilitate timely and effective decision making, and undertake business negotiations as necessary
- Develop and track program roadmaps, critical milestones, and schedules
- Manage contract negotiations and vendor management; continually assess and adjust resources and funds
- Uncover problems and manage risks by aligning program to strategic outcomes through risk identification, assessment, development of mitigation strategies, monitoring, and corrective action
- Establish guidelines and practices to ensure consistent and efficient program execution resulting in increased customer satisfaction
- Develop and deliver program status reporting and proactive progress updates, including the frequency and content
- Effectively communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion; plan and coordinate a diverse set of tasks across the team
- Ability to schedule meetings appropriately among executive schedules, participant availability, and functional context
Experience Required
- Comfortable moving in a fast-paced environment, working on a project that is fluid and in a constant state of evolution
- Familiarity with the design process and The Lean Startup, managing innovation projects, and experience working with cross-functional teams
- Strong executive level presentation and communication skills, including verbal, written, and Microsoft Office
- 3+ yrs experience managing direct reports and 10+ yrs managing indirect, cross-functional relationships
- Ability to schedule meetings appropriately among executive schedules, participant availability, and functional context
- Business and Strategy savvy, including: market, industry and product knowledge; financial (P&L) and business knowledge; competitive intelligence; and organizational systems
- Experienced change management agent
- Able to take feedback and iterate quickly
- Ability to make difficult and unpopular decisions, while demonstrating a rational, fair and supportable approach to resolution of issues; selection of corrective actions; resource and funding allocation and prioritization
- Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures
- Good knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques (PMP ideal)
