Data Analyst II, Data Science & Analytics
The Data Science and Analytics organization at http://realtor.com sits at the heart of this mission. We process and analyze terabytes of data every day that enable decisions for millions of home buyers, sellers, renters, dreamers, and real estate professionals. Our goal is to use this data to make the home buying experience a breeze for our consumers. Role Description:
We are looking for the best data and analytical minds to help us build our next-generation analytics platform. To accomplish that task, we are looking for a Data Analyst with a technology background to join our Metrics and Reporting team within the Data Science and Analytics organization. We’re building a centralized, state-of-the-art metrics data mart and automation on top of it to enable fast, accurate reporting across the business. This is a job for hands-on executors/do-ers/owners who possess not only the technical skills required but also a strategic, business-oriented mindset.
We are looking for a Data Analyst II to join our Metrics team within Analytics with the goal of centralizing a metrics data mart and building the tools to enable self-service metric reporting across the business. The mission of the Metrics and Reporting team would be very strategic and pivotal to streamline the KPI definition, standardize the measurement methodology, documentation, and in a word democratize the access and adoption of the metrics across different business units of Realtor. We are also responsible to build some new metrics and estimated KPIs (e.g., predictive analytics) through discovery work and statistical rigors.
Responsibilities:
- Build trust in all interactions and with Trusted Data Development
- Be responsible for monitoring the success of visitors' engagement and conversion by tracking metrics and building new estimated KPIs if necessary (e.g., revenue metrics)
- Be part of the center of excellence by spearheading documentation on metrics hub initiatives (metrics definition, measurement, methodology, Datamart)
- Build relationships with other products and analytics to get all business metrics requirements and the right definition/measurement methodology
- Conduct quantitative analysis, ad hoc reports, & statistical models to understand the health and latest trends among engagement and conversion consumer metrics
- Create impactful data reports from conceptualization, through data extraction, data analysis, and data mining, to the delivery of clear and actionable data.
- Be a champion to understand the Source tables and build data marts code to meet our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices (such as the SQL Style Guide) for a high-scale database environment.
- Maintain the metrics catalog and play a pivotal role to direct analysts and product community to the existing scalable resource to support Self-Service and Single-source-of-truth analytics
- Approve data model changes as a Data Team Reviewer and code owner for specific database and data model schemas.
Requirements:
- Educational Requirements: MS with a focus in Analytics, Statistics, Applied Math, Data Science, Economics, or related field.
- Experience within real estate tech, consumer search, and/or two-sided marketplaces is a plus.
- Ability to use GitLab

- Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate complex business activities, technical requirements, and recommendations
- Proven track record of translating business problems into analytical frameworks and developing analytical plans for answering complex problems and delivering analytic insights.
- Experience applying advanced analytical disciplines and statistics in financial, consumer audience/user experience, and/or product-level modeling, forecasting, regression, time series, etc.
- 2+ years of experience in SQL skills
- 2+ years Excellent experience R/Python skills for data analysis
- 2+ years working with a large-scale (1B+ Rows) Data Warehouse, preferably in a cloud environment
- 2+ years of experience building reports and dashboards in a data visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Data studio)
- 2+ years creating project plans to identify tasks, milestones, and deliverables
