We are currently seeking a highly driven Oil and Gas Analyst to join our Analytics team in Denver, Houston, or Austin. Performance Objectives
- Leverage analytical abilities to derive high value datasets and insights centered around operational efficiencies, cost optimization, capital deployment and engineering practices
- Work with a group of data scientists to solve complex problems with cutting edge statistical methods
- Manage and execute project timelines and expectations by working with internal developers and analysts, and effectively communicate progress and risk
- Develop strong relationships with industry partners and become a go-to analyst on all relevant projects
- Embrace cutting edge technologies such as real time streaming apps, next generation GPU databases, and high-end visualization tools to develop high performance software
- Be knowledgeable on broad market trends in Oilfield Services and E&P, including the changing customer and competitive environments, and current landscape of activity and M&A
Competitive Candidate Profile
- An abiding interest in the US Oilfields and upstream innovations which can make it more productive and efficient
- Bachelors or graduate education in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Finance or an Engineering field; Masters preferred
- 1-5 years of analyst or similar quantitative area and a demonstrated ability to develop valuable insights that drive change or action
- Knowledge with Machine Learning algorithms, Natural Language Processing (NLP), or other statistical algorithms would be preferred
- Experience with Oil and Gas, Supply Chain, and/or Capital Budgets is preferred
- Technical skills (Sql Server, PL/SQL, R or Python) are required for this role
- Deep GIS Analytics
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with colleagues and industry representatives
- Experience managing deadlines and expectations in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Willingness and capability to learn new technologies and areas quickly
- Experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value
