Role Summary:

The Office of the CIO is an independent body within CrowdStreet that is tasked with producing thought leadership content, serving as the final decision maker for deal approvals for the Marketplace, and participating in final investment decisions for CrowdStreet’s thematic funds. You will have the opportunity to play a critical role in the research, analysis and publication of CrowdStreet’s most visible thought leadership content, including CrowdStreet’s Investment Thesis and our annual Best Places to Invest. This position will be an integral charter member of the Office of the CIO and report directly to the CIO.

 

The Success You’ll Build: Primary Responsibilities and Impact

  • Publish commercial real estate research and thought leadership content to CrowdStreet’s investor community
  • Collaborate with CrowdStreet’s Marketing Team to develop new forms of content
  • Provide analytical support by creating and maintaining complex financial models
  • Research commercial real estate trends
  • Provide qualitative and quantitative analysis to inform the CIO on prospective investment strategies
  • Challenge underlying assumptions on pipeline deal flow
  • Support the CIO in preparing for interviews, podcasts and panel discussions

 

The Experiences That Will Help You Succeed:

  •     Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related fields
  •     Experience in commercial real estate analysis with a concentration in research
  •     Demonstrated ability to work and interact in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities yet still able to maintain attention to detail and accuracy


The Competencies You’ll Need:

  •     Ability to understand and articulate complex portfolio management concepts effectively
  •    Strong knowledge of commercial real estate investment principles with the ability to independently build complex fund-level financial models 
  •     Collaborative, team player who will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  •     An ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple priorities
  •     An innovative and analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills
  •     Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  •     Strong organizational skills with the ability to own and see projects to completion
  •     Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite and advanced MS Excel skills

Location

We operate in a hybrid work model. You can work from home in any of the 27 states where we currently have team members. You can work from our HQ in Austin, TX. Through our partnership with Industrious, we also provide access to CrowdStreet-paid, local co-working spaces.
