Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Transportation Planner who thrives in a collaborative and fast paced environment. This newly created role will be responsible for developing and managing capacity planning for all inbound shipments and ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries of Kendra Scott products from origin to final destination. This is a great opportunity for an experienced leader to build and manage a dynamic multi-national transportation account for a rapidly growing multi-revenue channel business. Work with multiple teams to deliver efficiency and cost effectiveness in an area that can quickly result in positive impact to the organization
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
Strategic
•Create the freight tonnage plan for all inbound shipments and allocate capacity to our transportation partners based on vendor performance and business need
•Assess and analyze existing logistics partnerships, processes and costs for all shipments. Identify & prioritize areas of short and long term improvement.
• Develop, communicate and execute short and long term goals to improve efficiency and costs.
• Develop and execute international transportation strategy.
• Partner with multiple internal teams and external partners to route PO’s timely, efficiently, accurately and in compliance with international and domestic requirements.
• Communicate benefits & risk of transportation alternatives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key, internal, cross-functional partners.
Tactical
• Manage and schedule inbound freight into DC and drop shipments to Wholesale partners.
• Track and Communicate on In Transit POs, including prompt communication of delays.
• Manage changes in planned transportation due to unexpected changes in production schedules.
• Manage partnerships with all shipping and logistics partners and network for future partnerships.
• Regular review of transportation partnerships to ensure best service and rates.
• Manage partnerships with transportation agents & ensure accurate and timely documentation.
• Manage and communicate on missing shipments and cartons and identify areas for in transit freight protection.
Cost & Efficiency Measurement
• Accountable for measuring and ultimately minimizing inbound transportation costs.
• Define a practice for tracking, segmenting, benchmarking and reporting on transportation costs.
• Define a practice for tracking, benchmarking and reporting on transit times.
• Understand and report transportation margins for web and wholesale customers.
Our Ideal Candidate will have:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Distribution and Supply Chain in a high volume, international environment. Retail experience is preferred. Asia/USA experience required.
• Proven success in ground up development of Supply Chain Operations programs.
• Comprehensive understanding of national and international import/export requirements and compliance.
• Solutions oriented problem solver with ability to manage through frequent change and roadblocks.
• Proven ability to balance focus on customer service, employee relations and accountability.
• Excellent written and verbal comm
