Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and conduct user research - in order to understand and empathize with our end users
  • Understand business and user needs resulting in well rounded products
  • Plan and conduct competitor analysis
  • Run UX workshops with key stake holders, end users, and engineers to identify user needs and reconcile that with business objectives and obstacles
  • Interpret data and qualitative feedback
  • Create user stories, personas, and storyboards
  • Determine information architecture and create sitemaps
  • Develop task flows and wireframes based on user needs
  • Iterate and communicate design ideas in low, medium, and then high fidelity prototypes
  • Design and conduct usability testing for the various stages of prototype design
  • Lead the development of a design language to ensure consistency - minimizing development time
  • Ensure UX and visual design best practices that support accessibility
  • Work with development to ensure feasibility to ensure designs are implemented correctly
  • Encourage data driven design - review product analytics to identify pain points, craft hypothesis and iterate on solutions with user testing
  • Develop UX and agile design/development best practices with week kick offs, design reviews, and retrospectives
  • Educate the Living Security team about Design Thinking and UX Best Practices

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in software UI design and crafting experiences including low- through high-fidelity mockups, interactive prototypes, and journey maps
  • 5+ years of experience designing the software UI of enterprise-level B2B or B2C applications that support users who are performing complex, technical tasks
  • 5+ years experience as an embedded designer within cross-functional agile teams consisting of product managers and engineers
  • 2+ years experience in planning, conducting, or participating in UX generative and evaluative research to discover user needs, define workflows and use cases, and iteratively refine prototypes. Representative research activities include contextual inquiry, semi-structured interviews, and scenario-based usability testing. 
  • Balanced mix of interaction design, visual design, usability testing, and prototyping skills
  • Skilled in Figma, Sketch, or equivalent prototyping tool
  • Adaptable and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Communication, collaboration and teamwork
  • Problem-solving
  • Design Thinking and a user-centric mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Creative and analytical approach
  • Understanding of interaction design principles
  • Business know-how: Understanding of business metrics and the ability to translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Degree or certification in design, human-computer interaction, or related field
  • Understand and promote responsive design
  • Prototyping and animation skills of industry tools such as Figma
  • Managing and facilitating workshops
  • Big data and analytical user experience design 
  • Knowledge about accessibility guidelines
  • Experience with reviewing end-user analytics to identify pain points 
  • Good sense of humor
