dbt Labs is searching for a Director of Strategic Events to lead our dbt Labs-hosted programs as well as our major event sponsorships. An ideal candidate has a proven track record of leading global corporate and strategic events that drive brand awareness and convert demand.  This leader must have experience managing multiple high-stakes projects at once, a passion for engaging customer experiences and a keen eye for detail. 

This leader will collaborate with senior internal stakeholders including Executives, Product Marketing, Brand Design, Sales and Demand Generation teams to run high-impact event programs. This role reports to VP of Brand Marketing, and is a rare opportunity to lead a growing events organization, with a strong track record of engaging programs. We’re looking for a strong leader who can strike the right balance between strategy, creativity, and impactful execution. This leader will lead a team of dedicated event professionals. 

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Own the strategy and annual planning calendar of dbt Labs-hosted events, including our annual customer conference, Coalesce, regional road shows, executive programs and beyond
  • Design engaging event experiences that maximize reach and impact for both virtual and in-person attendees
  • Lead pre-event promotions to drive target registrations and attendance, and post-event communications to maximize the impact of the event 
  • Oversee production of executive keynotes, from set design to show flow to speaker management to demos and beyond
  • Develop compelling partnership opportunities to drive sponsorships within our ecosystem
  • Oversee dbt Labs’ participation in third-party events, including sponsorships, experiences, sessions and branding
  • Partner with internal teams for major internal events including company kickoff and sales kickoff
  • Lead and develop high-performing team of event marketers to ensure goals and audience expectations are always exceeded, and the dbt Labs brand is well represented 
  • Maintain a network of partners to assist with various aspects of event management, including venue sourcing, production, branding, and onsite logistics. 
  • Track ROI, engagement, and audience feedback to measure results, assess opportunities for improvement, and optimize future events

It would be great if you have:

  • 8-12 years of relevant B2B event management experience
  • Direct experience in enterprise software industry and SaaS required, with international and high-growth startup experience preferred.
  • Experience navigating both in-person and virtual events, with a creative eye for hybrid experiences. 
  • Experience working directly with CEOs and C-level executives. Ability to engage with and influence senior executives with gravitas. 
  • Ability to build relationships with internal partners to understand and communicate business strategy.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead and mentor multiple team members.
  • A growth mindset and passion for building high-functioning teams.
  • Ability to strike the right balance between strategy and execution
  • A detail-oriented, analytical approach, with the ability to manage multiple, high-profile projects and deliverables.

You’ll have an edge if you have experience:

  • Working remotely in an asynchronous environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $199,000 - $241,000
