What we’ll do together…

As an Application Engineer on the Windows Engineering Team you’ll work within a team of professionals with a shared goal to democratize security. We strive to make security simple to understand and easy to use with our Windows integrations.

 

Your focus will be writing scripts or code to test our services for functionality and to improve application stability. You will create and automate environments to verify software works across a wide variety of customer applications and software versions in complex multi-OS Microsoft environments. You will do this in a development environment where continuous integration is in place, automated testing is run against every build, and infrastructure and configuration of environments is automated. You will be the goto person for working with internal (and external when needed) customers to mimic enterprise Microsoft environments to reproduce issues our customers are seeing and identify root configuration causes or enable software engineers to have an environment which reproduces issues in which to identify potential code fixes.

 

You will work with desktop and server applications, backend services, Python & Powershell scripts, SaaS products, and grow the breadth and depth of your knowledge.If this role is exciting to you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the description or skills listed below.

 

What you’ll do…

  • You’ll be the support face of our development team.

  • You’ll use your admin skill set to provide subject matter expertise to our team.

  • You’ll ensure that issues are received, recorded, and solved or escalated in a rapid, efficient manner.

  • You’ll identify and implement effective persistent fixes to reduce overall intake of support requests.

  • You’ll identify support trends and work to resolve those trends by providing training or documentation when necessary. 

  • Act as a primary support contact to answer technical inquiries, verify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.

  • Contribute to customer-facing and internal documentation used for self-support.

  • Implement fully automated environments for testing applications across a range of products and software versions.

  • Improve our application stability and scalability.

  • Write code to improve our development lifecycle.

 

Skills you have…

  • 2+ years experience in a customer-facing support role

  • 2+ years professional systems administration experience in an enterprise using Microsoft Technologies (Active Directory, Exchange, Windows, ADFS, etc.)

  • 1+ years of software development or 2+ years of automated testing experience

  • Fundamental or methodical problem solver

  • Strong network troubleshooting background

  • Understanding of Web Technology principles (DNS, HTTP(s), etc.)

  • Cross-platform OS knowledge (Linux, Mac OS X, Windows)

  • Cross-platform Mobile device knowledge (iOS/Android)

  • Follows through, taking the initiative to own issues until resolution

  • Unquenchable thirst for constant learning

  • Documents and shares knowledge to improve team performance and customer self-service

  • Welcomes and adapts to change in a customer focused workplace
