Associate Manager, Software Engineering
Q2 is seeking a Mobile Development Software Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team of iOS and Android developers and quality engineers in delivering an industry-changing fintech platform. You will be working at a company whose mission is to build stronger communities by strengthening their financial intuitions and working with FinTechs and startups who want to bring change and innovation to the financial world. This position will be responsible for leading a team in the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative and rapidly changing environment. It requires a highly motivated and focused individual capable of leading and building high performing innovative teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead a team to design, implement, and deploy high-quality, large-scale systems and services in support of community financial institutions and fintechs
- Lead the definition of secure, scalable, and low-latency services and efficient physical processes
- Work with cross-functional teams delivering on demanding projects
- Manage the day-today development activities for your team
- Understand system interdependencies and limitations
- Work with stakeholders to establish timelines for new projects
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospective and daily scrum meetings
- Instill best practices for software development
- Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls are adhered to established standards
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and up to 6 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 4+ years of experience; or equivalent relevant work experience
- People management experience and/or exhibited leadership skills
- Expert knowledge of software development, testing, and maintenance
- Knowledge and experience with mobile development practices
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate technical discussions and drive solutions forward to achieve business needs
- Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
- Experience with scaling and performance of large systems
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Obsession with quality - attention to detail coupled with the ability to think abstractly
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Knowledge and experience with automation preferred
- Knowledge and experience in the banking industry preferred
