Developer Advocate
HQ in Austin, TX (will consider remote work)
SailPoint is the leader in identity management and delivers an innovative approach to securing access across the enterprise with the SailPoint Predictive Identity platform. With SailPoint, enterprises can ensure that everyone and everything has the exact access they need, exactly when they need it, intuitively and automatically. As a developer advocate, you will be playing an essential part in increasing the awareness and adoption of SailPoint technologies as well as ensuring that our developer community is successful throughout their journey with our products. You will be working with both partners and customers to help ensure their success. SailPoint products were traditionally UI driven, but have recently adopted a strong API-first model. While we now have a useful and growing set of APIs, our developer relations program is new—which means you will have the opportunity to help shape it and grow within the organization. As part of the team, you will have a high degree of autonomy and support to pursue the initiatives you see fit. You will be the first developer advocate for SailPoint, reporting directly to the new Developer Relations Manager.
Requirements
- Strong familiarity and knowledge of APIs and webhooks
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally and across diverse geographies and leveraging remote teaming technologies
- Experience managing communities, experience working with developer communities preferred but not required
- Four years of programming experience preferred
- Experience with Node.js and Python preferred but not required
- Experience in cybersecurity preferred but not required
What You'll Do
- Engage with SailPoint developers to understand their perspectives, workflows, and use cases
- Work with product & engineering teams, acting as a stakeholder for the external developers
- Drive SailPoint API awareness and adoption by generating content (blog posts, videos, code samples, tools, example applications, conference engagements, etc.) that our developers will find most useful in being successful
- Shared responsibility in defining, building, managing, and growing the SailPoint developer community, community platform, and community events
- Write code through proof-of-conceptions, client libraries, code snippets, and possibly through atypical venues like live coding sessions
- Act as a stakeholder for any developer resources, such as our new, to-be-built developer portal
