You will be a be a key contributor to the Jira Align Development Team, which strives to simplify software at scale by bringing business and software development organizations together in one intuitive platform.
In this role, you will be an Engineering Manager working with the Jira Align team on the core components of the SaaS solution. You will work in close participation with Agile teams that include a triad of engineering, design, and product management. Leveraging your front-end, back-end and SaaS knowledge, you will be responsible for helping to build and maintain effective teams, and empowering them to achieve their goals. You will provide and use inspiration and creativity to help the team solve difficult challenges. With your software engineering skills and experience, you will help design, build and run the engineering initiatives, solution integrations, and core components.
As an Engineering Manager on the Jira Align team, you will also be responsible for the management of individuals reporting to you. This includes, coaching, mentoring, removing blocking issues and supporting them in their professional development to help unlock their full potential and grow.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- Industry experience leading a team of Engineers
- 5+ years of prior industry experience as a back-end or full stack engineer
- Experience building distributed systems for a SaaS product
- Experience with remote and distributed teams
- Experience with software development methodologies including Agile, Scrum
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management skills and ability to balance multiple initiatives
- Passion for mentoring engineers and helping others achieve their career goals
- Fluency in the Java tech stack / languages (Kotlin, servlets, etc.) and/or Microsoft tech stack / languages (C#, scripting languages, etc.) with the ability to review code & provide feedback, etc.
- CI / CD experience
- Experience working with Amazon Web Services (EC2, SQS, S3, etc.)
- REST API experience
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Microservice experience
- GraphQL experience
- Postgres experience
- Automated deployment and release management tools (ex. Octopus, Jenkins)
