About the role

Evernote is a productivity tool with the goal of helping our users remember everything and accomplish anything. The Growth Activation team is tasked with demonstrating this value regardless of the use case that brought them to our product, and therefore getting them to keep coming back. This team takes a fast paced, metrics driven approach to shipping code. All of the work that we do is managed through experimentation, learning quantitatively in the wild how to move key metrics in New User Activation/Retention. Each team member regardless of role is plugged into the exact impact of the work that we are shipping.

We are a creative, diverse, and analytical team, passionate about continuous learning around the “why” at the heart of our users sticking around. We value empathy for the customer experience, as well as a quantitative focus on driving business metrics. We work across all the applications that Evernote ships, writing code in React and React Native for our newly-rewritten desktop and mobile experiences.

What you'll do

  • As a full-stack growth software engineer, you will design, build, test, analyze, and rollout changes to each of our Evernote clients in production.

  • Perform rapid product iteration through A/B Testing to determine what users want in our software

  • You'll be biased towards action, pragmatism, and results – tangible outcomes that you can measure

  • Tackle new territory, because learning and recognizing patterns in unfamiliar technologies excites you.

  • You will see things how they should be, not just how they are.

  • Collaborate with a group of Designers, Analysts, Product Managers, and other Growth Engineers to design & execute experiments that will be seen or experienced by millions of people.

  • Partner with product, marketing, and support teams to run A/B tests, share knowledge, and use data to inform and influence roadmaps and business decisions.

What you've done

  • BS Degree in CS, or equivalent practical experience

  • 4+ years of software development experience

  • Experience shipping production web applications using any common framework.

  • Knowledge of Javascript, HTML, CSS and one backend language

  • You’ve worked across multiple levels of the stack, UI/middleware/backend

Who you are

  • Immensely curious, always seeking to learn more and figure out why something works for our users.

  • Open minded and results driven

  • Eager to learn new skills and technologies

  • Highly collaborative and empathetic, strong interpersonal skills

  • Have a sharp eye for detail

How you can impress us

  • You’re comfortable working deeper in the stack where needed

  • Experience with React, React Native, Typescript, and/or Electron Apps

  • Shipped production software for mobile and desktop applications

We are committed to an inclusive and diverse Evernote. We believe that different perspectives lead to better ideas, and better ideas allow us to better understand the needs and interests of our diverse, global Evernote Community. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives and are an equal opportunity employer.
