What We Are Looking For 

We are looking for an experienced and motivated IT Manager who will oversee our corporate IT operations. You will be in charge of managing all hardware, software and networking used by Bestowers. The tools and systems you put in place will allow employees to seamlessly do their jobs with the highest level of security. 

Who you are:

You will build and manage a team of engineers and Help Desk professionals.

Have a solid technical background and be able to manage and motivate people. 

You are first and foremost a people manager. 

You accomplish business goals by strengthening your team and motivating/retaining those already here. 

You are successful when your team is fully staffed and equipped with the right skills. 

We are looking for someone that approaches corporate IT with a software engineering mindset. An ideal person would strive to automate all processes and implement standards of continuous integration and delivery.

Challenges You Can Expect:

  • Execute on corporate IT operations including strategy, plans, policies, and procedures
  • Evaluate, recommend, and select tools used by all employees such as our SSO and IDP solutions
  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
  • Monitoring daily operations, including server hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Coordinating technology installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Selecting and purchasing new and replacement hardware and software, when necessary.
  • Testing, troubleshooting, and modifying information systems so that they operate effectively
  • Generate performance reports for technology performance and efficiencies.
  • Assuring all IT activities are performed within the parameters of applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Evaluating technology risks in order to develop a disaster recovery plan and backup procedures.
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems
  • Provide guidance to internal staff on all things IT related
  • Hire and manage a team of corporate IT professionals to support our employees and business objectives
  • Cultivate a successful team
  • Perform regular talent reviews, collaborate with engineers on professional development roadmaps and find solutions for low performers
  • Coach and mentor your team, including weekly 1:1
  • Source, screen, and interview engineers
  • Predictably deliver software and upgrades to company employees
  • Weigh constraints and make rapid decisions
  • Actively communicate roadblocks or significant delays in estimated delivery
  • Remaining up to date with advances in technology and industry best practices.

A Little About You:

  • 2+ years experience management experience in a corporate IT environment
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience preferably with python, Terraform, Yaml, SQL, SAML, JAMF, or Okta
  • Understand of Software Engineering and DevOps principles
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
  • Linux and OSX experience
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication abilities
