What we’re looking for:

Modernize is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our software development team. This role provides QA testing for creating sustainable, reliable, and accurate testing processes for all software that comes out of our development group. Reporting to the QA Engineer Manager, you will execute against those processes and provide reporting to the development team and other stakeholders.

What you will be doing:

• Develop procedures for testing existing and new software releases in both staging and production cloud environments
• Document software failures and anomalies providing thorough detail to facilitate reproduction by developers, or work to identify root cause
• Anticipate program release problems and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve commitments
• Create, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests
• Test user stories for incomplete information or incorrect assumptions and conclusions
• Develop new test cases for features and bug reports
• Document and communicate testing procedures and results
• Minor development and process automation tasks
• Manage staging environment used for testing
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to prioritize and resolve issues

What you will need:

• Experience in test case and defect creation
• Troubleshooting and problem tracking skills
• Strong understanding of SQL queries and databases structure
• Basic Linux administration skills, i.g. shell scripting
• Experience in hands on configuring and setting up test automation framework
• Experience writing scripts to automate QA tasks in any languages and using automation libraries, ig. Python and Selenium libs
• Experience with the AWS cloud environment preferred
