Who is Bold Commerce?

Named one of North America’s fastest-growing companies by Deloitte, Bold Commerce provides innovative ecommerce technology for businesses of all sizes. We believe Bold brands should have the ability to create and customize powerful transaction experiences — across all channels. Staples Canada, Vera Bradley and Harry Rosen are among the 90,000+ brands in over 170 countries that trust Bold’s suite of ecommerce tools to power their online stores every day.

We're made up of more than 400 professionals (and growing) who live and breathe ecommerce, and truly care about what we do. We call ourselves Builders. Here at Bold, we live by the BUILDERS Code, our shared set of practices, beliefs, and values that help to shape this dynamic company.

If you live in the details, and love coming up with improvements and solutions, then this is the job for you! We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Lead to help us make sure that everything we create lives up to the Bold standard. You will be heading up a team of QA Analysts on our Enterprise Services Team, that ensure everything is working as it should for our clients. Your ideas, feedback, and expertise will be needed at each stage of development, and you will be an integral part of planning, analysis, conducting, and finishing projects.

What you'll do

  • Be one of the last sets of eyes to make sure that everything is working on projects for our enterprise clients
  • Oversee your team of QA Analysts and manage the day-to-day activities, ensuring the right tools for success are in place
  • Coach and mentor your team, including overseeing performance evaluations
  • Look for process improvements and suggest best practices
  • Work closely with Account Managers and other team members to plan work and establish acceptance criteria for tasks
  • Write a concise test plan, design and execute test cases, and triage, log and organize defects
  • Find bugs and improvements and then identify solutions

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience working within the QA discipline in an Agile Software development environment
  • Post secondary education in web design, computer science, or equivalent work experience will also be considered
  • Experience creating project level test plans and test scenarios as well as writing and documenting process improvements
  • Understand how to optimize the role and contributions by QA during all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • An ability to take a task and run with it; testing our apps before they ship is the starting point because we’d like to see you make meaningful contributions to app features throughout the stages of development
  • Absolute attention to every little detail; we want our projects to be the best they can be, and you’re the last stop before they launch
  • Great perspective for user experience; while testing, you need to put yourself into the shoes of our users and test our apps the way that they would see it
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript, and SQL
  • Experience with end to end test frameworks such as Selenium, Puppeteer, or similar frameworks is an asset
  • Experience with API testing methods and tools such as Postman is an asset
  • A work ethic that demonstrates dedication and commitment to Bold’s mission and belief in our BUILDERS Code

Why work at Bold?

Our founders have created a workplace that our Builders look forward to coming to every day. A place where ideas are valued, where you can learn and grow and do cool things, while contributing to the success of the company. At Bold we embrace and cultivate a culture of creativity, innovation, and collaboration to enable everyone to do their best work every day.

Enjoy our total rewards package including health benefits, a personal spending account, group retirement savings, an Employee Share Ownership Program (ESOP), and an education fund to help you grow personally and professionally. To see everything we offer, check out boldcommerce.com/careers.
