Senior NLP Engineer

In this position, you will be leveraging the latest advancements in NLP and our existing corpus of over a 100 million clinical notes to develop a state-of-the-art pipeline for interpreting clinical text in real time. Key problems include information extraction from mixed narrative and semi-structured text, dealing with word sense disambiguation, abbreviated terms and contextual resolution of mentions. Working with the rest of our data science team you'll develop ML models utilizing the clinical insights derived from textual notes combined with structured clinical data to identify disease and disorders affecting the patient, associated treatments and gaps in the documentation.
What You'll Need
Minimum Requirements (Education, certifications and experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field
- 4-5+ years’ experience leveraging NLP techniques to extract meaning from text
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working with a small team in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
Preferred Requirements:
- 3+ Experience designing and implementing code
- Production development experience in Java or Python
- Experience in machine learning (especially transformers and active learning)
- Experience in all stages of the Data Science cycle from concept to production
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects
