Who We Are:
Immersed is a well-funded ($12M to-date), seed-stage Techstars startup, partnered with Facebook, HTC, & Microsoft to build AR/VR offices! We're strong team of engineers whose aim is to immerse distributed teams into a virtual office to maximize productivity so they can work with their team from anywhere! We do this by offering unique virtual working environments (like working from a space station or lodge nestled up in the mountains during winter). We are also working on some of the latest hand-tracking technology our space has to offer to make working in virtual reality that much of a better experience. This is by no means an easy mission to accomplish, but with the world's best team, we're excited to revolutionize the future of work!

Who You Are:
We’re looking for an experienced Senior XR Developer (C/C++/C#) to partner with us in making working together in Virtual Reality performant. As an emerging medium, Virtual Reality requires extremely optimized code at runtime. We are looking for a self-starter who can autonomously identify new ways of enhancing that user experience through optimizing low-level code that also minimizes internal tech debt. We also are looking for som

An Insider's view of Immersed [Techstars '17]

What’s the vibe like in the office?

The office is chill but can quickly turn exciting with new feature releases or goals met. There’s flexibility - whether bringing your dog or breaking in the middle of the day to work out. Whenever someone goes to pick up lunch or a coffee, it often turns into a team thing. We gather in VR for meetings or just to work with our remote team members.

Sarah

Director of Accounting

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

Building a productivity tool that is flexible, powerful, and intuitive in VR. Balancing these three things isn't easy, but all three are necessary to make working in VR seamless, enjoyable, and even preferable. With nearly infinite variations in work flows, hardware, and software - we are laser-focused on making this a reality for the world.

Ryan

VR Engineer

What makes someone successful on your team?

The ability to be creative along with the technical knowledge to execute. Ability to give and receive critical feedback while being respectful of others. A passion for learning new skills and honing old ones. Having risky ideas along with conservative fall backs.
Being able to travel the road of failures to success.

Marvin

Lead Technical 3D Artist

How do your team's ideas influence the company's direction?

To be a very successful company, the best ideas MUST win, not office politics or ranking. And if I've actually surrounded myself with some of the world's most brilliant people, I'd be a fool to not get their thoughts/ideas. Everyone on the team, including myself, is directly incentivised to let the best ideas win, irrespective of whose idea it was.

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

Remote work availability is good. It's good for employees, employers, the environment, and local economies. We want to make remote work accessible to everyone. Our primary goal is to not only make remote collaboration as effective as in person, but to one day make it more effective by transcending physical limitations.
