About  the Role   

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering Level 2 technical support of our critical web-based applications that are used by Sysco employees and customers alike. This individual will work closely with L1 support teams, DevOps, and Engineering as well as direct interaction with customers and be part of strategic discussions to continue the evolution of both flexibility and sustainability of our entire product suite. You will demonstrate extraordinary attention to detail, the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs/priorities/timelines, and a proven track record of troubleshooting technical issues effectively and efficiently. This role is also responsible for constant evaluation of existing monitoring, documentation, knowledge base articles and process updates to continuously improve the overall operational effectiveness of the Sysco Labs organization.   This position can be based out of either Austin or Houston, TX. 

About You   

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in a technical operations support role . 
  • 2+ years of experience and strong working knowledge of enterprise cloud platforms, (preferably AWS). 
  • Experience with APM tools such as DataDog, New Relic, Nagios and Splunk is a plus . 
  • Availability to work extended hours as needed including some nights and weekends, and participate in a 24x7 SRE On-Call Rotation  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine strategy and process for all support issue tracking from intake through resolution. 
  • Coordinate between L1 Support, Content Manager, DevOps, Product, Engineering and other teams where applicable. 
  • Work as a peer with L2 SRE Teams offshore; L1 on and offshore Management. 
  • Learn and maintain a thorough understanding of system architecture, applications and related integrations. 
  • Ensure proper RCA is completed on critical and high impact issues to reduce and ultimately eliminate recurring issues. 
  • Work closely with Platform team to understand and improve system monitoring/alerting. 
  • Work closely with SRE Manager on technology strategy, solutions, resources, process and compliance. 
  • Availability to work extended hours as needed including some nights and weekends, and participate in a 24x7 SRE On-Call Rotation
