You will:

  • Improve development velocity, stability and predictability of our Editor support
  • Grow the team while maintaining high velocity and morale
  • Collaborate with Product Management on roadmap to ensure the team has clear direction

You should:

  • 2+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of computer science and programming
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a solid track record growing people and teams
  • Good at prioritization and applying sound, data-informed judgment to weigh trade- offs

Bonus Points:

  • Degree in Computer Science
  • Past work at a high-growth startup
  • You love the Unix philosophy
  • You are passionate about open source software
  • You have strong opinions about engineering workflow

Interview Process
We believe that the interview process should be consistent and enjoyable. We prefer to have the entire process take no more than 3 full weeks. During these 3 weeks you will be able to meet a mix of individual contributors, managers, and one of our Co-Founders. If you interview for a position that requires a take home assessment, we will compensate you for your work and time spent.

An Insider's view of Coder

What’s the vibe like in the office?

The Coder team is proud of our software and our office vibe reflects that. You'll see people hard at work while jamming to their favorite playlists and brainstorming in huddle rooms. Everyone's voice matters at Coder, so the company founders and executives can be found coding and collaborating alongside the team on the open floor.

Allison Harper

Sales Development Representative

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

Remote development has historically been viewed as a subpar alternative to local development. At Coder our goal is to make your remote development workflow indistinguishable from your local workflow, providing you all the benefits of the Cloud without having to give up the tools you love to use in your day-to-day.

Jon Ayers

Senior Software Engineer

How does the company support your career growth?

Coder wants every team member to be world-class at what they do. One of my favorite perks is the accrued $50/month education budget we each receive. I've taken classes on illustration, design, and hostage negotiation.

Clint Kadera

Head of Design

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

We're very collaborative here at Coder. Whether we're knocking out a blog via Google Docs and Slack, or jumping in a conference room to whiteboard the solution to a problem, collaboration is at the forefront of how we operate.
