We are looking for an experienced, very hands on, Accounting Manager/Senior Accountant for a rapidly growing SaaS company located in Austin, TX.  A successful candidate combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.  The Accounting Manager/Senior Accounting duties include preforming daily accounting tasks, along with month end reporting and analysis for management.

Responsibilities:

Manage all day to day accounting activities including AP, AR and Payroll

Manage the expense report process, including initial review and approval, and payment

Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems

Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable

Process monthly payroll

Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results

Provide Monthly Reporting to management, including company-wide P&L, and appropriate department based reporting

Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all accounting/finance related functions

Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

Assist with tax audits and tax returns, main point of contact regarding state specific tax reporting

Direct external audits

Prepare month-end and year-end close

Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Ensure compliance with GAAP principles

Requirements:

Proven experience as a senior accountant or accounting manager with 5-7 total years experience

Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures

In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cash basis accounting

Awareness of business trends

Familiarity with financial accounting statements

Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process

Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks

Advanced MS Excel skills

Accuracy and attention to detail

Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
