Job Summary:
This position is responsible for continuing to elevate our GL accounting function through driving process improvements while maintaining high quality operations. This person will have a passion for U.S. GAAP accounting while leading a team and continually evaluating ways to add value to the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day global accounting activities and GL financial close process for your assigned areas to ensure complete and accurate financials in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including managing/reviewing close activities such as journal entries and account reconciliations within the established close timeline. In addition, ensuring compliance with internal policies, SOX controls and external audits
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including SEC reporting and financial planning
- Drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline Accounting operations and improve the quality of monthly, quarterly, and annual closes, and internal controls
- Lead and develop a team of two crew members
- Assist with audits, compliance requirements, and international statutory filings
- Participate in special projects as required
Qualifications:
- B.S. or above degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience - preferably a mix of Big 4 accounting firm experience and public companies
- 1-2 years in a management or supervisory role overseeing accounting personnel
- Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills as well as ability to effectively use accounting and operational knowledge to collaborate, guide and interact professionally with a wide range of personnel at various levels within the organization to drive sound business decisions
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adapt to change
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to train and develop employees
- Ability to work independently and apply critical thought
- Strong knowledge of SOX requirements, including the ability to assess, develop and implement internal controls
