We are looking for a Controller to help with managing all accounting operations, support month-end and year-end close process, ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, and assist the CFO on special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, and Revenue Recognition
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Assist the CFO on special projects and drive the implementation of process improvements
- Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Manage outsourced functions
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
- Process payroll in a timely manner
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Issue timely and complete financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Equivalent combination of education and experience
- CPA or CMA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in accounting. Supervisory or management role overseeing an accounting function or department a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, accounting concepts, legal requirements and best practices
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to create, analyze and present data from a variety of sources
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office Suite
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and perform on a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail and commitment to excellence
- Positive team-oriented attitude
