Finance Business partners and the broader FP&A team drive actionable insights into our business and support the business unit leaders and the executive team with greater visibility, predictability, and accountability, enabling WP Engine to scale and invest for profitable long-term growth. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will work with Business Unit leaders to ensure the financial, strategic, and operational objectives for the business are met. This role requires someone who is highly analytical and strategic, is able to communicate clearly and effectively, and thrives in a fast paced-environment.
Your day to day
The purpose of this role is to drive growth by engaging with the business and providing financial leadership through business stewardship, support, and ownership.
Work closely with Executives and VP teams within the Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure organization to optimize operational performance through revenue, cost, and efficiency metrics
Leverage financial and operational data to assist VP teams in the development of technology product and application business strategies and priorities, and learn to challenge these priorities
Create business cases to support strategic capital and operational resource allocation
Evaluate and influence decision making around longer-term cost & revenue optimization opportunities
Perform tactical interventions with the business to close gaps vs. plan and achieve project delivery
Lead the 5-year strategic planning process, formal budget review process and quarterly forecast review process across Product, Engineering and Infrastructure organizations
Provide for the timely review and communication of monthly / quarterly financial performance reports and commentary of high value business areas including transparency of risks and opportunities
Assist decision-making of senior management by assessing risks and opportunities to improve key financial and winnings metrics
Identify process and operational improvement opportunities, to include consideration of offshoring and automation, by benchmarking performance within / across regions
Perform ad-hoc analyses including performance, cash flow, and operating efficiency
Technical Skills & Experience
Experienced business leader with 6+ years of finance, strategy, and/or management consulting experience
Strong leadership skills with the ability to interact and influence at all levels and the ability and willingness to coach, develop, and mentor others
Experience with Adaptive Insights, NetSuite, Looker and Workday is a plus
Ability to sustain high impact, trusted relationships
Ability to see connections between financial and operational levers, surfaces un-intended consequences
Ability to facilitate innovative approaches based on external thinking
Ability to challenge the status quo, and have courage to ‘do the right thing’
Ability to make connections across the business
Strong technical skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
