Responsibilities & Requirements
As a Senior Accountant you will be responsible for many aspects of general ledger-related activities ranging from proper application of US GAAP for accounting transactions, preparing GL account reconciliations, the monthly close and providing financial reporting for multiple consolidated companies. We are looking for someone who has excellent problem-solving skills and enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment to support our continued success. The position reports to the Assistant Controller/Accounting Director.
We're looking for a talented Senior Accountant who can:
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the business operations, financial reporting, and the general ledger structure for multiple companies.
- Perform assigned tasks for monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations.
- Assist in the development of financial statements and reports.
- Contribute to the efficiency of the accounting team by participating in cross training, sharing job responsibilities, and serving as position backup for other team members.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Develop and maintain appropriate internal accounting controls, systems, and procedures to ensure both timely and accurate financial reports.
- Document policies, procedures and workflows for their areas of responsibility.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives making accounting processes more accurate and efficient while maintaining and enhancing business reporting initiatives.
- Perform ad-hoc projects.
About You:
- You're educated in accounting! You have at least a bachelors degree in accounting.
- You have 3+ years of accounting experience demonstrating an increase of responsibilities and leadership.
- Ideally you also have:
- a mix of experience in both public accounting and corporate accounting
- experience in the technology or software industry
- experienced with accounting concepts related to the SaaS industry
- experience using Sage InTacct
- You have strong proficiency with MS Excel.
- You have the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of staff inside and outside the department, while working in a team-oriented and intensely deadline-drive environment.
- You have a proven ability to adapt quickly in a changing environment and facilitate change.
- You are attentive to detail and have the ability to prioritize projects. You are organized and can multitask effectively.
- You have a demonstrated ability to handle confidential information and a sense of strong business ethics.
