Senior Accountant
Q2 is seeking a Senior Accountant, Expense and Consolidations based in the Austin, Texas office. As a part of the expense and consolidations team, you will primarily manage the accounting for global consolidations, intercompany transactions and overhead allocations. Additionally, you will lead the monthly close process and support financial reporting and both internal and external audits. The ideal candidate is system savvy, detail-orientated, has firm knowledge of GAAP and works well in a team environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for adhering to expense accounting policies and procedures world-wide. Activities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Responsible for global consolidations/eliminations and allocations, while ensuring that financial statements are GAAP compliant
- Responsible for accounting and analysis of higher risk accounts and processes, reconciling accounts and explaining period over period/budget vs. actual variances
- Own account and other hierarchy maintenance in NetSuite, and support same process for Oracle NSPB
- Lead/assist team in the annual audit of financial statements and internal control audits
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, and act as business lead for system and software implementations as needed
- Participate in and help drive current and future acquisition integration activities
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Ensure financial transactions are executed properly and the documentation is complete to ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX 404 and Company policies
- Work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives
- Continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes, striving to deliver process automation, improved accuracy and efficiency
- Assist Global Accounting Manager, Expense and Consolidations and Senior Director, Global Accounting in driving internal efficiencies and corporate initiatives
- Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
- 5+ years experience in accounting, CPA a plus
- 3+ years of software or software-as-a-service (SaaS) experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley and the reporting and compliance issues of a public company
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge (Pivot Tables, Financial Model creation and analysis)
- NetSuite or Oracle, particularly global consolidations experience strongly preferred
- Oracle Planning & Budgeting or Hyperion experience strongly preferred
- Strong work ethic with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
