Q2 Software is seeking a Senior Accountant. This position will be involved in a broad range of accounting areas, taking the lead and being responsible for the financial reporting function, technical accounting research, stock administration and support of M&A transactions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 

  • Assist with preparation and filing of SEC reports, financial audit support preparation and field work
  • Prepare external and internal financial statements
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including the statement of cash flows and month end journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with accounting for stock-based compensation plans
  • Prepare documentation on the application of GAAP to non-routine transactions
  • Assist with accounting for potential M&A transactions
  • Identify process improvements; plan, document and execute plan
  • Research and monitor new GAAP pronouncements and analyze their impact as it relates to reporting and consolidating to ensure compliance with new accounting guidance
  • Assist in monitoring internal controls
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Q2 security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:  

 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
    • Must have a minimum of 5-7 years of related industry experience including 2-3 years of Public Accounting experience
    • CPA preferred or working towards obtaining certification
    • Thorough knowledge and application of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.
    • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel knowledge (financial modeling experience)
    • Previous experience working for a public accounting firm strongly preferred
    • Audit & SEC reporting experience a must
    • Software/Software as a Service accounting experience a plus
    • NetSuite, Oracle PBCS and Auditboard experience a plus
    • Exceptional work ethic, highly efficient and accurate
    • Ability to operate independently with minimal up front instruction and take ownership of work product; driven, diligent, and self-motivated
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to work on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet assigned deadlines
    • Excellent communication skills with a customer service focus
    • Trustworthy and discreet with confidential financial and employee data
