Role Description

The Head of Strategic Finance & Company Planning will be responsible for setting the vision for, and building and managing the Strategic Finance & Company Planning team. This role reports to the VP of Finance.

This a crucial leadership role, working directly with the most senior leadership of the company and cross-functionally with business partners across the broader organization to set strategic direction for the company. You can expect to define and guide the team to drive detailed analyses to derive insights that will drive key business decisions, help track key performance metrics for the company, and act as a strategic partner to our Product and Business leadership teams. You’ll focus real-time on high-priority business issues and see your insights turned into impactful initiatives on a regular basis. 

The perfect candidate will have an investment banking and/or growth-investing background paired with experience at scaling technology businesses, strong quantitative and analytical skills, along with experience or interest in running efficient, cross-functional processes.  

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving strategy for the company, working cross-functionally with the Product and Growth/GTM organizations in particular, to identify, scope and monitor innovative growth opportunities and initiatives (organic and inorganic)
  • Own Company Planning, collaborating cross-functionally with the President’s Org, Finance Org and the People team, driving alignment and accountability mechanisms
  • Develop data-driven investment theses, business cases, and evaluation criteria for growth and efficiency oriented initiatives
  • Direct quantitative modeling efforts to quantify revenue initiatives
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Corporate Development to support acquisition target evaluation, due diligence and integration
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Investor Relations in messaging with investors and equity research analysts
  • Work closely and directly with the FP&A team in financial goal setting and financial planning

Qualification & Experience

  • 14+ years of corporate finance, investment banking or private equity experience
  • Outstanding leadership skills with 4+ years of previous people management experience 
  • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, and ideally, self-service models
  • Strong understanding of the work streams and cadences required to run a successful company planning cycle
  • Keen strategy/product interest and intellectual curiosity
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Capable of solving complex business problems
  • Values-oriented, data-driven decision-making style
  • A degree in an analytically rigorous field (Business/Economics, Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering) or experience doing data analysis for a technology company is a plus
  • Ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
  • Experience with SQL / HIVE
