POSITION SUMMARY
AdAction is looking for a motivated and skilled Accountant to join our Austin based Finance team, reporting directly to our Financial Controller. As an Accountant at AdAction, you will have a great deal of ownership on a small team and will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks including accounts payable, revenue reporting, commission calculations, journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close processes.

This position requires collaboration across multiple departments, while also being able to work independently. Advanced Excel skills are required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the Accounts Payable process end to end
- Work with the Accounts Receivable team to solve complex clean up issues.
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and implement changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency
- Manage payroll, including commissions and preparation of W-2, W-9, and 1099 forms
- Support management, sales team and partners fielding commission questions and resolving issues with incorrect commissions calculations
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing of accounting books
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
- Prepare financial statements for year end tax reporting
- Collaborate with other members of the accounting team to support department objectives
- Monitor and respond to all customer and vendor inquiries in a timely manner
- Work on special projects and reporting, as needed
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 1+ years of experience in general accounting (financial reporting, journal entries, accounts payable, payroll, etc.)
- Understanding of complex excel/sheets formulas
- Strong technical accounting and financial analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail, reliable and organized
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to multitask and successfully manage time-sensitive projects/requests
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Word)
